confluence

"Confluence" is a site-specific design depicting the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater Rivers. The snake is 100 feet long, made up of 155 durable and maintenance free mosaic panels and is installed on both the inside and outside of the pedestrian bridge, which crosses a major highway. It is viewable by passing cars, boats and pedestrians. Community mosaics were incorporated into the artwork instilling a sense of pride and ownership in the work. "Confluence" was completed in 2012. It is fabricated from sculpted concrete panels embellished with glass mosaic and epoxy grout. It was commissioned by the Urban Renewal Agency and the Beautiful Downtown Lewiston Assoc. for $90,000. It is installed on 5th Street pedestrian bridge, Lewiston, ID.

???????? MELI- I suggest you introduce Something;s Fishy here, and note that is part of the Confluence bridge project, etc. ??????????
"Something's Fishy" highlights native species of fauna including trout, sturgeon, salmon and great blue heron. This work of art was created using light (polystyrene foam core) concrete sculptures embellished with glass mosaic and epoxy grout on and beside a 4 x 6 foot wall. It included community built mosaics with participants' names included within the artwork. I worked closely with a multi-party design group including designers, contractors, engineers and community members to realize this project. Its location is the corner of 5th and F streets in Lewiston, ID.
